Tuesday homework.
1. How does advertising influence consumption?
- I think that the advertising influence a lot of consumption. Because advertisement is when the company advertise an item to you and want to persuade you to buy the item. And you think that you should buy that item, because the company advertise that item look good and great to you. Then, you will consume a lot for that item. If one advertisement talk about how you spend you money to buy stuff and that is bad. That will make a lot of people consume less than before. This also have some positive and negative affect.
- I think that the citizens are not sufficiently informed about the sustainability of their consumption habits. Because if they know the information about the sustainability of their consumption habits they will not buy any kind of item of all company. That will make the company be gone. And if we wanted to improve the sustainability we have to choose only good item for sustainability to advertise, not bad item. Then, they will not spend a lot of money for a bad item also.
- I think that these advertising techniques influence me purchase a lot. Because like put a famous model or celebrities into the advertisement. For example, the Pepsi advertise Lionel Messi and other famous soccer player that half-naked and painted on body that was print on the Pepsi can. That will make me and my friends to buy it, because it was pretty and Lionel Messi was on the can.

Migration/ Immigration Assignment (new one)
In 2005, my family was still together and had fun. However, when my brother studied in grade eleven, the school that he went to at told him that he got a scholarship from school because he studied so well. Then, the school had a list of schools in Australia for my brother to choose. That was good for him, because he wished to study in other kind of education, immigrate to other country so that he will have more benefit for his studying. Two months later, visa was granted to my brother. After they finished everything, my brother went to Australia. The whole family sent him to the airport altogether. That was my most miserable day.
After he settled in Australia, he said that he was very happy and impressed with what he had seen in Australia. Also, he said that the climate and environment were better than our homeland. The reasons which is why he moved out of Vietnam is because Vietnam has really bad pollution, also he wants to get to know other countries better besides his hometown. Vietnam pollutes out the smoke and dirty chemicals that become carbon-dioxide and those are causes toward global warming. The population started to increase amazingly and that means more people, more cars, and more traffic jam. He moved to Australia because Australia has a better security for country, he can ethnic with other people from other places and have a better shelter. He moved to Australia in a way was called external immigration. He moved because he wanted to have a better place of education, and that will help him a lot later in the future. Furthermore, he can learn how to interact with people in Australia. The positive sides that he moved to Australia were that he can learn more new things; he can improve his English better. The negative sides that he moved to Australia were that he would have a difficult time about how to live in other country, how to interact with other people, and most importantly is how to settle down. When leaving Vietnam, he can practice on how to live by himself, independently, how to save money at an affordable level for school and other things as well as living cost. And least but not last, he will then realise on how he will miss family and his friends, relatives. Eventually, he will get a different kind of education and study, and he will get a lot of trouble about money. Those are my story about my brother’s immigration to Australia.

Migration/ Immigration Assignment
In 2005, my family was still together and have fun. But, when my brother was studied grade eleven. The school that he was studied at told him that he got a scholarship award from school because he was studied well. Then, the school have a list of school in Australia for my brother to choose. That was good for him, because he wish to study in other kind of education, immigrate to other country and also he has benefit of studying. He was very happy, but I was sad because if he go to Australia, who will play with me. But, later, I think it was okay, because after one year, in December my brother will come back to Vietnam and visit family. Two months later, my brother and my mom started to go to the airport and made the VISA for my brother. After they finished everything, my brother went to Australia at airport. That was when my family send him to the airport together. That was my most miserable day.
After he was settle in Australia, he said that he was very happy and impressed with what he saw in Australia. But, he said that he was very missed us because he said that his significance was family. Also, he said that the climate and air was better than our homeland. The reasons that why he moved out of Vietnam is because Vietnam has a bad pollution, too many people and people were very impolite, because Vietnam was a country that not so good. Vietnam pollutes out the smoke and dirty chemicals that become carbon-dioxide and that are what make global warming. The people in Vietnam started to be crude and from that they started to fight. The population started to increase and that means more people more cars and more traffic tram. That makes people late and wastes their time. There are a lot of reasons but I think it just enough. But there are more reasons that why he want to moved to Australia. Those are Australia have a better security for country, he can ethnic with other people that from other places and have a better shelter. He could be safe in Australia and that was the most important things. Once he met other, he can talk to them and then he can learn a new culture from them. He would have a better home than Vietnam, the house more beautiful and have security about thief. This movement was called external immigration because he moved outside country. He moved because he wanted to have a better place of education, better life and that will help him a lot later in future. May be that later he can help our country become better. He wanted to learn new thing like new culture, how people live in Australia. He can learn how to interact with people in Australia. The positive effects that he moved to Australia were that he can learn more new things. He can learn how to live alone not by parents anymore. He can improve his English better. Australia has a better climate and weather conditions. The negative effects that he moved to Australia were he would have a difficult time about how to live in other country. How to interact with other people. He would be bully by some guys that were terrible in school, especially black people. When leaving Vietnam, he can know how to live alone, how to save money for affordable about school and other things, he can know what is the culture in Australia, he can know what other people like, he don’t have to smell the smoke and pollution in Vietnam anymore. The negative effects are he will miss family and his friends, he will get a different kind of education and study, and he will get a lot of trouble about money. Those are my immigration of my brother to Australia. These can help him a lot later in the future.

My Land's Story
Magic World (Mangae)
Once upon a time, there was a strange continent named Mangae. It was a very big continent on a large body of water. A few years later, there was a lot of earthquakes and volcanoes so it changed the whole planet’s surface, and Mangae started to separate from each other. There were five countries, and five children to rule each kind of magic. After they grew up, they wanted to have their own country. According to that, they went and took a country. One ruled the “Water Magic”, one ruled the “Fire Magic”, one ruled the “Light Magic”, one ruled the “Dark Magic and the last one ruled the”King of Magic” country. The last one was the best to rule “King of Magic” country. In 940, they created an army using their magic to protect all the countries. However, after a while, they don’t trust each other anymore. So, they took their own army back and started to attack each other. After that, the war was created by five countries. The war was continued and was passed down for generations. Until 980, the war ended by the contract of five countries. The contract mentioned that every country will protect each other and help each other when one country gets into trouble. After the war, “Dark Magic” was the weakest country because they don’t have much energy source and don’t have a lot of army. When “King of Magic” country heard that, they knew that before them, all the countries sticked together like a continent. So, they have an evil plan that will conquer all of the Mangae. Then, in 990, “King of Magic” country breaks the rule in the contract and started to attack other four countries. Other four countries were surprised and terrified. However, they still have to attack and defend back if they want to live and keep peace for their countries. “Dark Magic” was loose in the attack and they had to move to “Light Magic” country for help. Even though they hated each other, they still figures out that they have to team up together to win this match. Then, they team up with water and fire magic. They have a plan to take back their country and destroyed the king of magic country. Finally, in 995, four countries attack “King of Magic” country at the same time. Even “King of Magic” country was the best, but they still not win if four powers attack on them at one. In 1000, the war ended and “King of Magic” country was destroyed.
Everyone was in peace again. They were really happy; “King of Magic” country was source of energy for all four countries at that time. And it would help people to live better. So, all of this was the legend of Mangae!!!
5 themes of geography:
1. Absolute and Relative Location:+In my map and story, I have a lot of things to say. However, this time I have to talk about the five themes of geography. In my map, I have all five of them. First, I will talk about the “Absolute Location and Relative Location”. About the absolute location, I created my own longitude and latitude for my own map. It was not a hard thing, though. As in my way, the middle line was 0 degree, then, plus with other numbers that you like, and you skip one space. After that, you have your own latitude and longitude. About the relative location, at the very beginning of the story, all countries were one country named Mangae. But it is separated after a long time according to the planet’s surface. So, other countries were part of each other and it has a relation with each other.
2. Movement:
+In this paragraph, I will talk about the second theme of geography. My story’s movement was when the “King of Magic” country attacked the other four countries. And “Dark Magic” was a weak country. So, they lost their country. They wanted to survive and revenge so they moved to the light magic. At first, they hated each other. But, they understand each other and get along well day after day. I don’t have much movement in my map and story.
3. Human/ Environment Interaction
+In this paragraph, I will talk about the third theme of geography. It was human/environment interaction. About this one, I only have few of them. So, the “Water Magic” needs water for their life, because water magic country’s people were made from water. So, that energy was their main source of energy. And they build their house near the river or water. It will help them a lot later on. So that was all about human/environment interaction.
4. Place:
+In this paragraph, I will talk about the fourth theme of geography in my map. It was place (both man made and physical). I have some of them in my map. About what people made, I have a factory for each of the countries. So, they can make food and provide energy and house for people to live, and the energy absorbing machines for light and dark magic. About physical place in my map, I have volcanoes for fire magic to live and river for everybody to drink, because water magic needs a lot of water. Furthermore, I have mountains to make it look even more beautiful. Mountains are also a good source of energy. Those are all about places.
5. Region:
+In this last paragraph, I will talk about the fifth (last) theme of geography in my map. It was region; I have some of them in my map. They were mountains, rivers, roads and other things. All five countries have them all. Because all of these countries were in the same continent, but now they are separated. Overall, they still have similar things like others. And all people in each country can all use magic. Those are all about five themes of geography.
Timeline:
• In 911, there was a continent named Mangae but now it was separated.• In 922, there were five countries and five children.
• In 935, they grew up and took their own country.
• In 939, they named their country and made an army.
• In 943, they didn’t trust each other anymore.
• In 945, they took their own army and fought each other.
• In 950, five countries declared war.
• In 965, the war continued passed down for generations.
• In 980, the war ended and everyone was in peace.
• In 982, five countries made a peace contract.
• In 985, “King of Magic” country wanted to rule all of Mangae.
• In 990, “King of Magic” country attacked other 4 countries.
• In 995, “Dark Magic” country moved to “Light Magic” country.
• In 996, “Dark”, “Light”, “Fire” and “Water Magic” countries fought back for glory.
• In 1000, the war ended, “King of Magic” country was the source of energy.

What I have learned during the process of this project?
I think this project is a good project because it will let everybody and we know each other very well. During the process of the project, I asked very detailed about my family history and where we are from. I’m surprised that on my mother side, my grandmother was from a country side. I thought that my grandmother was a city person like my grandfather. And now I also know that there was a kind of food was “Banh Dua” that was my country side traditional food. And other people in our class have different cultures. I was interesting about Henry, because he achieved some awards that since he was young. I just saw it for the first time.
And one more thing like my grandfather death and my paternal grandmother death were just between 2 years. And my maternal grandfather dead when my mom was just a young kid. And I also surprised about other people cultures, like their clothes and their food. That are all what I have learned during the process of this project.

First Journal Respond!!!
I have been to Vung Tau. Vung Tau is a very beautiful beach. It is in Ba Ria, I went there by my family car so it took me 2 hours to get there.
When we are there, I happy and surprise for the first time I ever saw the beach. It's looks very fun, and it's like a sea of people. Everyone are having fun. Because it is weekend so a lot of people came to Vung Tau to play and relax. After I change cloths, I went to swim and play at the beach. At that time, the weather is very hot and sunny. I wonder that why the sand so soft and sink down when I stand on it. And under the water, the sand sink down more fast, so I asked my mom why. She said that because the water pulled the sand away. This beach's water is a salt water kind. I can saw people were swimming and some ride canoes. I play almost till to evening. And when I came back to home, it was 8:00 o'clock already.
This was my great trip. It made me understand more about how the sea form and more about the beach.
