Blog Questions Post Homework

1)      Life in Vietnam would be perfect if everyone were totally equal.  Do you agree or disagree?  Explain your answer in complete sentences.
-I totally disagree with this idea. If everyone were equal and same like each other, then we wouldn’t have many great people that won prize and try to help Vietnam to be a better country. Then, we also will not have any great people that give their great effort to their own country about what they have achieve. If everyone on Vietnam were equal to each other, then Vietnam will become an average country. Because there are no one good enough to try to think and develop something new to Vietnam, Vietnam will be the same and not improve.
2)  You are designing a society in which everyone is equal. What are the laws?
-The laws are that people have the same right in their life, everyone will have the same thing, the smart people will have to help the government to develop the country and the people that worst than them when they get into trouble. The smart people don’t have to wear handicaps. No one will make fun of other people.
3)   What would you do to help people who were less capable mentally, physically, or socially to “catch up”?
-I would help them by help them in studies, what we have to do to have right or wrong, teach them to obey the law, and they can have their own talent that can help the country that they don’t recognize it yet (help them to show out their talent)
4)   What problems can you foresee that might come in a society with laws that force “equality for all”? How would you handle those problems?
-The problems will be that the government will disrespect the citizen because they have more power; the rich people may laugh at the poor people or make fun of them. To handle the first problem, the government will have to respect the citizens and help them in their daily life, for the second problem, which laugh about the poor people will get punishment and gave their money to poor people.
5)   Do you believe that total equality is possible, or would human nature make sure that some people would eventually dominate others?
-I think that total equality is impossible because in this word everybody have is different than each other, nothing is equal. Some people have a unique talents and some not, and will dominate other because it is their human nature. Nothing is the equal on this world.
6)   In what situations have you felt similarly to any of the characters? What persons, places, or ideas from your own experience came to mind while you were reading this story? Try to list as least two examples.
-In 6th grader, there were some of my friends that study well than me but they seem like disrespect the person that is not good like them. I said that they need to respect me and the person that is not good like them. Like when the government make everyone respect each other and equal to each other. In Vietnam history, Vietnam was conquered by France and Vietnamese have to work very hard, no money, being hit by the France soldiers. It was the same at the citizen was being force to wear handicap and do what the government said.

Tuesday homework.

           1. How does advertising influence consumption?
  •  I think that the advertising influence a lot of consumption. Because advertisement is when the company advertise an item to you and want to persuade you to buy the item. And you think that you should buy that item, because the company advertise that item look good and great to you. Then, you will consume a lot for that item. If one advertisement talk about how you spend you money to buy stuff and that is bad. That will make a lot of people consume less than before. This also have some positive and negative affect.
           2. Do you think citizens are sufficiently informed about the sustainability of our consumption habits? If not, how can we become more informed about sustainability issues?
  •  I think that the citizens are not sufficiently informed about the sustainability of their consumption habits. Because if they know the information about the sustainability of their consumption habits they will not buy any kind of item of all company. That will make the company be gone. And if we wanted to improve the sustainability we have to choose only good item for sustainability to advertise, not bad item. Then, they will not spend a lot of money for a bad item also.
         3. Do you think these advertising techniques influence what you and your friends purchase?
  • I think that these advertising techniques influence me purchase a lot. Because like put a famous model or celebrities into the advertisement. For example, the Pepsi advertise Lionel Messi and other famous soccer player that half-naked and painted on body that was print on the Pepsi can. That will make me and my friends to buy it, because it was pretty and Lionel Messi was on the can.

Migration/ Immigration Assignment (new one)

In 2005, my family was still together and had fun. However, when my brother studied in grade eleven, the school that he went to at told him that he got a scholarship from school because he studied so well. Then, the school had a list of schools in Australia for my brother to choose. That was good for him, because he wished to study in other kind of education, immigrate to other country so that he will have more benefit for his studying. Two months later, visa was granted to my brother. After they finished everything, my brother went to Australia. The whole family sent him to the airport altogether. That was my most miserable day.
After he settled in Australia, he said that he was very happy and impressed with what he had seen in Australia. Also, he said that the climate and environment were better than our homeland. The reasons which is why he moved out of Vietnam is because Vietnam has really bad pollution, also he wants to get to know other countries better besides his hometown.  Vietnam pollutes out the smoke and dirty chemicals that become carbon-dioxide and those are causes toward global warming. The population started to increase amazingly and that means more people, more cars, and more traffic jam. He moved to Australia because Australia has a better security for country, he can ethnic with other people from other places and have a better shelter. He moved to Australia in a way was called external immigration. He moved because he wanted to have a better place of education, and that will help him a lot later in the future. Furthermore, he can learn how to interact with people in Australia. The positive sides that he moved to Australia were that he can learn more new things; he can improve his English better.  The negative sides that he moved to Australia were that he would have a difficult time about how to live in other country, how to interact with other people, and most importantly is how to settle down. When leaving Vietnam, he can practice on how to live by himself, independently, how to save money at an affordable level for school and other things as well as living cost. And least but not last, he will then realise on how he will miss family and his friends, relatives. Eventually, he will get a different kind of education and study, and he will get a lot of trouble about money. Those are my story about my brother’s immigration to Australia.
